Christmas Tree barn launch at Leaton Forest

Shropshire's leading home-grown Christmas tree merchant is opening a new barn next week.

Located in the heart of the Leaton Knolls Estate, near Bomere Heath, the new barn will be the focal point for families visiting to purchase their trees this Christmas. The barn is to be opened by local MP Daniel Kawczynski on Saturday December 5, at 1pm, when mulled wine, hot cordial and mince pies will be served.

Charles Bridgeman, of Leaton Forest comments: "We have been selling homegrown trees for 29 years. We have invested in a new multipurpose barn, with disabled access, and at this time of year it will be used to welcome visitors who have come to purchase their Christmas trees. Charles says that we should never under estimate the special occasion surrounding the purchase of the family's tree. "It is just wonderful to see the excitement of children as they come to buy a tree – and frankly it is a very special time for parents too. Together they really do enjoy the anticipation and aspirations of making their home ready for Christmas."

At Leaton Forest, Christmas tree visitors are able to amble through the Christmas tree plantations to select their own tree which may be dug or cut (bring your own saw). Alternatively choose from the large variety of species and sizes from Norway Spruce and Scots Pine to Nordman Fir and Noble Fir; there is also a selection of trees ready cut, plus holly and mistletoe.

"We hope that families will join us on December 5 and enjoy an early festive drink and make selecting their Christmas tree a magical, memorable moment," adds Charles. For more information call 01939 290384
